Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the controller, the accounts payable clerk at Holocaust Museum Houston is responsible for processing accounts payable, cash receipts, credit cards and all bank deposits.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable functions that include matching vendor invoices to corresponding documents/purchase orders, assisting with expense coding and allocation, preparing check runs, researching billing discrepancies, copying, filing, maintaining vendor information/profiles and W-9 forms;
- Processing cash receipts;
- Processing bank deposits;
- Processing credit card payments;
- Reconciling all bank deposits;
- Generating 1099s and working with ADP to process W-2s;
- Supporting records related to sales/use tax filings and refunds;
- Reconciliation of company credit cards and expense reports; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of basic accounting;
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems;
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Be a team player;
- Be willing to accept new challenges; and
- Must be proficient in Excel software (Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge, preferable)
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Previous accounts payable experience
Physical Requirements:
- Bending, filing and lifting up to 25 lbs
