Volunteer Programs

Holocaust Museum Houston has a very small staff; therefore, our Office Volunteers provide much needed support in the administration of the Museum. Responsibilities of office volunteers include answering telephones, general office work such as copying, filing, and stuffing materials for mass mailings.

If you have typing and/or computer skills, we can use your expertise for data entry and database management.

Our Front Desk Volunteers greet our visitors and man the museum store.  If you like talking to people, this is the perfect place for you to give your time.

The Library Volunteers of Holocaust Museum Houston assist the librarian with cataloging newly acquired books and archival material, as well as assisting students with research assignments. The library contains approximately 6,000 books, a dozen Holocaust-related journal titles, and hundreds of videos, all catalogued on a computerized system. Library volunteers may also be asked to assist with special education/library projects.  The Weekend Library Volunteers actually function as the librarian on Saturdays and Sundays.

If You Believe
If you believe…
That a systematic destruction of a people should never happen…
If you believe…
That too many of our children are immersed in a culture of violence and intolerance…
If you believe…
That education is unique in its ability to transform ignorance into respect for those who are different…
If you believe…
That prejudice and hatred can be overcome…
If you believe…then act!
