Book a Group Tour
|
|
|
Participation
- Due to the graphic nature of some exhibits, we limit tours to groups
in 6th grade and higher. For questions regarding age-appropriateness, please call
Visitor & Volunteer Services at 713-942-8000, ext. 102 or e-mail tours@hmh.org.
- Tours may have a maximum of 60 people per group. For more than
60 people, separate tours must be scheduled at least two hours apart. You may find
it convenient to take one group to a nearby Museum or park while the other tours
the Museum and then alternate groups.
Admission Cost
There is no admission fee, but donations are always welcome.
Availability
Tours are available during Museum hours:
- Monday to Friday 9 a.m. 5 p.m.
- Saturday to Sunday: 12 Noon
5 p.m.
Note: because tours can take 2 1/2 hours, tours will not start later than 2:30 p.m.
Tour Guidelines
Guided tours are led by trained docents and last approximately two and a half hours.
Holocaust Museum Houston requires one adult chaperone for every 15 youths or students.
Please arrive approximately 5 minutes prior to the time of your tour. Please notify
us if you are running late. A late arrival may result in a shortened tour due to
the number of other groups in our Museum.
Upon arriving and before unloading the buses, the group leader must check in at
the lobby desk with an accurate number of participants: students, teachers and other
chaperones. A docent or member of the Museum staff will assist in unloading the
buses, organizing the groups and getting the tour started.
We do not have the facilities for your group to eat lunch on the premises, and food
and drink are not allowed in the building. Please make other arrangements for lunchtime:
options may include area parks. Sack lunches may not be brought into the building.
